Software Distribution is a service provided by the UNSW IT Services to the University IT community whereby ITS negotiates with selected software vendors to obtain the best prices and conditions for distribution of software on campus. This software is made available to faculties, units and staff of the University of New South Wales at minimal cost through the ITS Software Distribution service. Licences can be purchased on behalf of faculties, units or staff of the University of New South Wales. Licensed software can be used only for study, research, teaching and administrative purposes for UNSW. Licences cannot be used for commercial purposes or in service bureaux. Anyone who does not fall within the licensed user groups for any software product must obtain their copies of the software from a retailer. Backup copies of the software are permissible. You may not reverse engineer, decompile, disassemble or modify the software. Purchase of a licence allows you to download the software from the Software Distribution server. Manuals are not included. Information on specific software products are both on the individual software pages and collected together on the Full Licensing Conditions page. The software you purchase from ITS does not come with free technical or installation support. If you are having trouble installing, configuring or running the software, you may contact the IT Service Desk on ext. 51333 or e-mail the IT Service Desk servicedesk@unsw.edu.au Your problem will be logged and a technical support person will contact you to help resolve the problem. This will be a normal charged support call.
